Torrents
Getting Started
- Download and install a supported Bittorrent client.
- Windows:
- OS X:
- *nix:
- Download and open a torrent file.
- Be patient. These are large files.
- Seed the file when it's done downloading for as long as you can. It's common courtesy to seed until you have at least a 1:1 ratio, meaning you have uploaded at least as much as you downloaded. Seeding makes downloads go faster for everyone else so please seed as much as you can. It's possible to watch the game as you seed it. To seed, just leave your client open after the download has finished.
Codecs
- If you get an error while trying to play one of these files, it's most likely a codec issue.
- If you don't have codecs like XviD, MPEG-4 or AC3 Filter already installed, you can install a codec package for XP or Vista or just use VLC (Windows/Mac/Linux). VLC is an excellent alternative to other media players since it's cross-platform and comes with all of the most commonly used codecs already installed.
How to make a torrent
µTorrent
- File > Create new Torrent (or CTRL + N).
- Select the file(s) or folder.
- Tracker (copy and paste into the box): http://mgovideo.com/announce.php
- Tick "Start seeding".
- Do NOT tick the private torrent box.
- Save the torrent and upload it.
- Go back into µtorrent, right-click on your seeded torrent and click "update tracker". The color will change from red to green and your torrent will automatically appear at the top of the list on the homepage.
Azureus
- File > New Torrent (or CTRL + N).
- Tick "use an external tracker" and copy and paste http://mgovideo.com/announce.php into the tracker box.
- Select single file or folder, click NEXT and browse to the file or folder you want to share, and click NEXT again.
- Do NOT tick "private torrent".
- Do tick "allow decentralized tracking".
- Save the torrent and upload it.
